It had to happen eventually, didn’t it? West Brom finally saw their unbeaten run ended as Leeds United replaced them at the top of the Championship table.
Whites left-back Ezgjan Alioski slammed home an effort which deflected in off Kyle Bartley for the game’s only goal as the Baggies’ run of nine straight games without defeat was halted.
West Brom dominated the match in large spells, particularly in the second half as they recorded 67.3% possession, which was hugely emphasised when substitute Tyler Roberts was replaced by Luke Ayling having played just half an hour.
But for all their pressure, Slaven Bilic’s men just couldn’t find a way past the stern Leeds defence.
