According to , the Red Devils recently submitted a formal offer for the Uruguayan, however, the Ligue 1 champions have reportedly rejected the bid. Ugarte snubbed Chelsea last summer to join PSG but he soon fell out of favour under manager Luis Enrique. He made only 25 Ligue 1 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign where he provided three assists.

Despite rejecting United's first bid, it is being reported that the reigning French champions are open to selling the player after just one season. This could encourage the Premier League side as they are expected to come up with a revised offer soon.
